It's Time For Importers to Renew Their Certificate of Origin​

With the 2022 calendar year ending, Frontier would like to remind you that it’s time to renew your CUSMA certificate. Importers can take advantage of the duty-free rates under CUSMA, by possessing a valid CUSMA Certificate of Origin. To avoid disruptions, we recommend that you begin the process ASAP. Start today by retrieving all Certificates of Origin from your suppliers with the blanket period completed for January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023

Certificate of Renewal Form

The CUSMA Certificate of Renewal is valid for one year and must be renewed annually.

You have 3 options:

  1. Retrieve the document and forward to Frontier
  2. Frontier can request the document on your behalf for a fee or;
  3. Frontier can retrieve the document and ensure that it is completed correctly for a retrieval and consulting fee for service.

Certificate of Origin (COO)

The country of origin determines the duty rate, what free trade may be applicable and if there are any anti-dump provisions on a product. Ensuring that certificates are accurately completed eliminates the worry that customs may disallow the use of the document after the fact, which would result in an unforeseen, unaccounted cost.
